The APICAL A1-FCWF Long Road series consists of continuous, glass fractional column wiped film evaporators designed for compliant processing of light & heavy compounds into ultra-high purity distillates oils under deep vacuum conditions. Operators enjoy the precise control, standardized purities and high throughput while owners rely on the durability, product consistency and protection against contamination Apical systems offer.
Intended to perform precise, ultra-high purity separations continuously. These systems take the wiped film workhorse and incorporate powerful fractional columns to offer continuous, high-level distillations.
The APICAL A1-FCWF Long Road series ranges in size from .025m² to 5m² wiped surface area. With throughputs from 250mL/hour to over 25,000mL/hour, Apical has the flexibility to fit systems to your scenario without compromise.
Throughput is backed by consistent separations of near boiling point compounds to purities exceeding 95%. The main body product travels through the fractional column and collects on the first condenser while heavier impurities condense and reflux back down the controlled column to the wiper evaporation surface. The low molecular weight compounds, like aromatics, terpenes etc., are managed on the second and third external condensers. Your heavy molecules don‘t have the chance to distill and are collected after running down the wiped surface.

The APICAL A1-FCWF Long Roads series is composed of a range of wiped surface areas; .25m², .1m², .35m², .5m², 1m², 2.5m², 5m². All ancillary glassware, motors, temperature control and pumps scale appropriately.
These systems utilize large tubing to ensure an unimpeded vapor path which is critical to maintaining deep vacuum at the process rather than just at the pump. With that, the column and external condensers are sized to carry the full capacity of distilled vapors under the increased efficiency these deeper vacuum conditions allow.
Scaling these dimensions appropriately is one of the keys to high throughputs, successful process development and efficient commercialization.
